Engaging learning toy
I got this for my Pre K classroom. It provides an engaging hands on learning fun way to learn numbers. It has been durable and holding up well for multiple uses in my classroom.

Another Amazing Amazon Toy!
Can’t say enough good things about this toy! Full disclosure, my son is 21 months old so this is a little ahead of his capabilities, but that is what I love about it! He has another toy that is a bunch of little barns with a set of keys and he has to match the keys by shape or color to open the barn. Even though he loves that one, it’s not challenging for him, so he gets bored with it quickly. This toy is perfect because he will eventually learn how to read his numbers in word form to match the key and he can also turn it over and learn how to count to match the key. At his age, he has no issues getting the key in the slot and opening the lock once the key is matched correctly. Size-wise, both the keys and locks are perfect for little hands. My only complaint about this toy is that I wish the little cards were made of plastic because these paper ones are going to get ruined quickly. Overall, so happy to have this toy in our play room and excited that he won’t outgrow it as quickly as his other toys.

Fantastic educational toy!
This is a fantastic toy to help kids associate written numbers with a count of dots. They cannot “cheat” using color to match the key to the lock. They have to match the written number on the key to the number of dots on the lock.If you start with all 10 at once, your kid is going to get too frustrated and won’t like the toy. Start by giving your kid just the number 1 and number 2 lock and key. When your kid learns to identify the #1 and the #2, you can add the #3 lock into the mix. They will pick up the #3 pretty fast. Then add the #4 and keep going. This isn’t a con, but you need to think about it. I would stick to using this toy supervised, because literally your kid can padlock something and lose the key! I have not seen a “parent safety release” or anything which would allow you to remove a lock if the key was lost.

Kids love it
I ordered this lock and key set for my preschool classes. When purchasing educational toys for school I have to look into whether they will 1. Help my kids learn what I teach in class ( in this case, number to counting dot correlation) 2. Can they use the toy on their own or in a small group without having an adult help with the actual function of the toy. 3. Will it hold up to 36 kids using it a day, with normal toddler usage. Before I had the kids use this lock and key in their centers, I pre taught what this toy was, how we play with it and that it was made of plastic and they could not smash or bend the toy. If the key does not turn, count again. The kids loved playing with this lock and key set.The front of the lock has the number written and the back of the lock has the number of dots to match the number. The key has the number written numerically. My kids are not reading yet, so I wrote with a permanent marker the number numerically under the written word on the lock so the kids would count the dots on one side and match the number on the other side to the key. This key and lock set has been a fun addition to our math center and will put them in our activity rotation.

cute and fun learning toy
my 2 year old keeps on jamming the key into the doorknob. I know he wants to learn and copy what his parents do. so I found this toy lock to help him. he loves it. he’s able to learn how to put the key in the right way, twist turn to open lock, and then push to close the lock. now he puts the lock on the back of our dining chairs, on the stair baluster, etc. anywhere where you can put his lock on, he’s locking it up lol.I think the only improvement that this set of locks need is the lock and key need to be the same color. currently the locks are multicolored but all the keys are blue. this makes it harder for a two year old to figure out which one is the correct key for the lock. overall great sensory and educational toy.

Locks do not close well
The locks are very attractive, but they do not close without significant pushing. I don’t know if I received a faulty set or if this is typical.

Great Leaning Toy!
This was such a great toy for my 3 year old. It works on colors, numbers, shapes. The keys are big enough for easy grip for small hands- works on motor skills. Would recommend to gift or for your own!
