Fun, creative play for all ages
My 3-year-old loves this game! We’ve had it a few weeks and have found many ways to play with it. There are two play modes, day mode and night mode. In the day mode, the pigs go on the board and the houses are placed so that the pigs remain outside; in night mode, the pigs go in the houses. The wolf piece is only used in night mode. The game comes with a book of puzzles that includes 24 day and 24 night puzzles. The easiest puzzles are doable for a 3-year-old and the hardest puzzles are hard even for an adult. At age 3, he doesn’t yet remember that he’s done puzzles before so it’s a fresh challenge. The set is good quality. The pieces fit well into the board and stay up even with toddler hands putting houses over them. The wolf piece is also bigger than the pigs so that he doesn’t really fit in the houses, so you know you’ve got it wrong if you try to put the wolf inside. I appreciate the attention to detail wherein the houses are yellow, brown, and red to represent straw, wood, and brick, just like the story. The puzzle also comes with a book telling the story of the three little pigs if your little one isn’t familiar with it, but the book isn’t integral to the game. Some tips for additional fun:1. Have your child set up the board. This is good practice for reading maps and following directions. If the puzzle is too hard for your kid, have them look at the solution for the puzzle and recreate it.2. Some puzzles only use one or two pigs; to explain this to my son who always wants to use all the pieces, we say that the other pigs are “on vacation” and need to have their houses ready for them when they come home. Then once all the houses are placed, we lift up the empty houses and the extra pigs “come home.” During the day time puzzles, we pretend the wolf is sleeping.3. There is lots of opportunity for play acting with the pigs and wolf. We have fun with the wolf piece pretending to huff and puff and blow the houses down during the night time puzzles. Sometimes the wolf “wakes up” during the day time puzzles and comes to eat the piggies who must then escape. Super fun!

Very cute
Had it as a gift. The girl loved the figurines and was playing with and without the puzzles. She also loved the book. Maybe too small for under 3, but good with supervision.

love the game but received a USED product
love the game but received a USED product. I know this because it was out of order, the sleeve was ripped and the booked had a folded corner. BUT my son saw it and loved the pigs and wolf so I decided to keep it. I just think they should have a higher quality control process to send things ripped as new ones.

Great for kids who need extra cognitive help.
My Daughter is 7, but due to some learning disabilities, she struggles with concentration, flexible thinking, visual perception, and other factors. After her occupational therapist played a game similar to this, I searched a game on Amazon to find one that would help her out. This game has been an absolute treat. The different levels allow her to feel confidence but also challenge her to an extent. The two ways to play allow her to choose something a little different after she masters one side. It’s got these perfect pieces that allow for some fine motor play to be involved too. She enjoys doing this on her own, and I allow her to keep working until she begs for hints. Allowing herself to look at her own mistakes and fix them herself. I dont think this would be appropriate for younger 3s, but older threes might be able to do the simple puzzles. My two year old just likes putting the pigs in the houses, but still it takes him a few tries to figure out how to manipulate the houses to get them over the pig. All in all, great game, and I will be getting more.

Well made!
2.5 year old loves it. She free plays right now but tries to read the playing cards and puts the piggies on the board. The prices are wonderfully made sturdy and adorable. My kiddo loves the houses and definitely uses those critical thinking skills when trying to hide all the piggies. Says one player but allows parent play and interaction.

Most of the SmartGames products are awesome, very high quality, a lot of challenges. Most of their games are for the older kids, but this one is one of the few for the smaller kids, 3-6 years old. So my 3-year-old daughter saw this set in the library and wished for it when we were ordering some toys. I was surprised that she is actually able to understand the task, described in the instructions, follow it, and solve some puzzles.
