Easy, Educational and Fun! Sadly, paint doesnât glow brightâ¦
We bought this to use with a Solar System Unit Study in our homeschool with my 6YO.It was easy to paint, had plenty of paint in the tubes, and came with an informational booklet that made good education during the craft project. It was easy to assemble and also came with suction cups hooks for an alternative display method. Great quality, good quantity and easy to create for a wide range of ages. Our only drawback was that paint doesnât glow really well, which was disappointing. It also was not easy to clean up so Iâd recommend painting with old clothes and newspaper or a drop cloth over your workspace.

The National Geographic Kids Window Art Kit is an excellent craft for creative fun, where kids are allowed to create and play by making several things regarding the solar system. This kit contains glow-in-the-dark planets that turn into stunning stained glass suncatchers. With the materials provided in this kit, kids will be able to create stunning hanging decor to adorn their windows or ceilings, making it an excellent addition to any space-themed room. The hands-on project, in a very interactive way, nurtures creativity and learning about the solar system. It is an ideal venture for crafting individually or as a group and fosters imagination to enable artistic expression. All in all, the National Geographic Kids Window Art Kit is an exciting way in which kids will be able to engage with both science and art at the same time. This kit enhances decor and thus serves to make one’s experience educational in fostering a love for the exploration of space.

Poor quality
The paint is terrible. It made a goopy mess and has uneven coverage. The metallic ones are opaque which defeats the purpose. This is not a good value for money

Solar System: Ok, but doesn’t glow
This solar system kit was fun for my 10-year-old, as she loves space. She was a little confused about what she was supposed to do to get the paint out, as the instructions say nothing about needing to cut off the tips of the nozzles or poke holes in them. She asked for help with that, and I poked holes in them for her with the point of a geometry compass. The paint is pretty thick, more of a gel than a liquid, so it definitely doesnât achieve the smooth look in the product images, but she was fine with that.Calling the paint âglow-in-the-darkâ is a bit of a stretch. We have these hanging from the chandelier in our dining room for her upcoming birthday party, so they are very close to six lights that are on all day, and they get sunlight from the patio door a few feet from where theyâre hanging. When we turn the lights off at night, the glow is barely perceptible, and only in complete darkness, after our eyes adjust to the dark enough to even be able to see them. They donât glow enough to be recognizable as planets or enough to even be perceived to be glowing in less than complete darkness. I cannot stress this enough: Do not buy these if youâre looking for a cool glow-in-the-dark thing to put in your kidâs room for nighttime. You will be disappointed.Overall, the planets are good, and I like that it came with some info and fishing line to hang them. Iâd give this four stars if it didnât say in the product info and on the box that the paint glows in the dark. It loses a star for false advertising and a star for gloppy paint and no mention in the instructions about how to get the paint out.

Fun activity
My space obsessed 6 year old loved this craft.

Very disappointed 4 year old. Got this item Oct 11th. Tried to use on Nov 1st. Paint is like a hard jelly in 4 of the 7 colours and canât be used. Do not recommend! Tried warming in hot water which didnât work. Tried mixing with a little stick which just got stuck in the hard glob.

I gave this to my grandnephew at the cottage. It worked out well for that because it contained everything needed to learn and craft the solar system.

Déçue de mon achat. Les supports sont bien, mais la peinture est inutilisable. Très épaisse, on ne parvient pas à lâétaler. Le résultat nâest pas beau. Je ne recommande pas.
