Cool Lego set
So fun to put together! Lego is always great quality and the instructions were easy to follow to put together. It’s a decent sized set and looks really cool as a display piece. Everything came well organized and nothing missing in the box.

How Legos Should Be
I have a tradition with my wife, where we open a gift on Christmas eve… but it’s always a puzzle. We’ll sit and drink Champaign and watch insipid Christmas movies, and work on our puzzle… well, we’re better off financially now than we have been, so I decided to step up our game, and get us this Lego set… which was good and bad, seeing as it ended up taking about a week for her to put it together. I say, “Her”, because as it turns out, while my wife had played with Legos before, she never built one of the sets. As an only child who had Legos since I was 4, I figured I’d let her just take the whole experience of building it, only adding a hand when she needed a little more finger strength. It wasn’t really the silly romantic puzzle idea 2.0, but it was really nice being able to give her that experience. The set itself is exceptional. There are plenty of little nooks and crannies to hide all the minifigures, and the fact that it doubles as a full blown pirate ship…! it makes me pine for the days before Legos were syndicated. the old castles, space ships, underwater worlds… playsets not based on massive movie franchises, that used to be “imagination-required” in order to enjoy them for more than their building phase…This is that set. This is what Lego should continue to challenge themselves to be.It’s a display piece for us, but I won’t lie: I’ve definitely played with it. I think we all need that from time to time… and not the dopamine-addling nonsense of video games, but just, a few physical analogs that you can engage your imagination with, to tell some pointless story to yourself of how Blackbeard’s Ex-Wife (the captain is a woman in this set… well, if you follow the instructions) got conned into seeking treasure on her former husband’s secret estate… which ended up being little more than an abandoned grouping of small islands! To make matters worse, his posse was waiting for her there, ready to ambush her and take her ship! Hijinks ensue, and now, I rate this now five stars for “thickness”, because that’s apparently a measure of quality for this on amazon.

Absolutely amazing
Well worth the $200(Price on 5 Dec 2020). This set took me, a 35 year old adult, just over 7 hours to complete on a lazy Saturday. The set brought me so much joy I felt like I was a child again. There is so much detail to this set. What is cool about this set is that you can, without destroying it, take the 3 large pieces of the ship and put them together to make a large complete sailing ship. I provided a picture with the ship from this set next to the “3 in 1 Creator Pirate Ship Set #31109″(Currently $99) so you can compare the size of the two. While this set came with plenty of extras and spares of little oddball items. I was short one piece, a reddish brown Brick #3941. which was required for one of the masts. Luckily, there was one that was used in a hidden spot on the base of the island I was able to use while substituting it for a random spare 2×2 brick I had from my collection.Despite that one draw back. I recommend this set to others. Happy building fellow Lego fans!

Had the most fun with my son
I bought this Lego because it is a remake of a classic that I could never have as a kid. Now I got to assemble it with my son and it was hours of fun. The attention to detail is exceptional and anyone that can afford the price tag will have a good value for money. It is a classical toy that can be passed down through generations.

FAMILY PROJECT!!!
Henry Ford would have shed a tear! Single dad, 3 kids and this was the perfect group project. The 2 teenagers downloaded the lego instructions app and I went through part of the 460 page manual with the 6 year old on my lap. I’ve been a lego enthusiast since I was a little kid and this set reignited some fond memories. One of the most detailed sets I’ve built AND you can turn the island into a functional pirate ship! Awesome buy and well worth the money.

Great design. Great fun for your kids.
One of my favorite Lego sets. Once built, it has plenty of minifigures and weapons and props to play a bunch of scenarios and stories. Great design. Fun to put together (itâll take you a while) and a good value for the money, though it isnât cheap.

Favorite Lego Set Yet!
I have not built a Lego set in years and being stuck at home this holiday I decided to pick it up and work on it over the course of a week. There is so much detail and fun to be had putting this together. The thing that honestly stood out to me the most though is just the ingenious way some of the sections are engineered. The way they make the statue look half buried in the sand is incredibly clever and something I would never have considered despite how simple of a trick it is!

The first lego set I remember building was the pirate ship released around 30 years ago that inspired this set. So when I saw this new release it was an easy purchase for me. After finishing it, I got to say it’s an amazing set with countless details inside and out. Super fun to build. The three separate parts of the vessel are easy to remove or put in place. I thought it was missing two pieces from one of the bag but I found them in the very last bag that is used solely to convert the island into a sailing ship. By far it is my favorite build this year!
