A musical Chinese book designed for babies, but enjoyable for parents
I bought this book for my two-year-old daughter, who is learning Chinese. As an English-speaking dad, I don’t know much Chinese myself, but the book is very accessible with genuine, everyday Chinese language and English translations. I think babies would especially enjoy the beautiful, high-contrast illustrations. The songs are sweet and well-produced, so you won’t mind hearing them repeatedly. The speaker is on the back of the book. If you are in a quiet room and want to muffle the volume, just lay the book on a table or blanket. Overall, I would heartily recommend this book for anyone with young children learning Chinese. It’s been a delight to share with my daughter.Updates: My daughter now knows all the songs! She sings them to her dolls as she puts them to bed or takes them to âchu qu wanâ ( go out to play). The other day, she asked for another cookie using clear beautiful Chinese: zai lai yi ge, hao bu hao? (just one more, please), which is an exact phrase from one of the songs. So cute! Iâve even learned all these phrases myself. These are such clever books that weave daily language into songs. They include a summary page that repeats the song titles and everyday phrases. My daughter started singing along with the rhythmic songs as soon as she opened the pages and learned them quickly. Highly recommend! Waiting for their next volumes to come out!

I love this book as much as my daughter!
The jojo musical books are so uniquely beautiful! We have both of them. The illustrations are high-contrast, but unlike any of the pure black-and-white baby books we had before. This book uses a deep brown color mixed with some texture. Charming art work! The music is so well-made. The book feels almost like a collector’s item for me, but itâs also a favorite of my 5-year-old daughter. The songs are simple and memorable, and all about daily activities. My daughter loves to sing the songs to her dolls while she pretends to “take care of them.” So very cute!I am a native Chinese speaker living in California, and my daughter speaks both Chinese and English fluently. Many of the other Chinese baby musical books I have found here in the United States donât feel authentic to me. But these jojo books make me feel almost nostalgic. I love the subtle, heartwarming storytelling and hint of Chinese culture. The mom-putting-baby-to-bed song brought tears to my eyes when I first heard it. I almost feel the book is as much for me as it is for my daughter. Love both of the books!

Such an amazing book for babies and infants
I ordered the book as a Christmas gift. Itâs made of high quality and works as a regular hardcopy book or an audio book. I love how the book creates an immersive experience of learning the basic Chinese through a good combination of reading, listening and interacting. The illustration and the music are well designed for babies, and even if you donât understand Chinese, you will enjoy it. I would highly recommend it.

Fun and Engaging Way for Kids to Learn Chinese Through Music!
Iâm so glad I picked up the JoJo Sing & Learn Chinese musical book! Itâs such a great find for both parents and kids who want to learn Chinese in a fun and engaging way. The catchy tunes and simple lyrics make language learning feel like a joyful musical adventure. The illustrations are adorable, showing the baby growing and exploring the world, and you can really feel the love and connection between the baby and parent. The songs cover basic vocabulary and phrases that kids can easily understand and practice. I especially love how the music encourages repetition, making it a fun way to improve memory and pronunciation. The interactive elementsâsinging along with the music and lyricsâmake it an immersive experience. Honestly, it takes me back to my own childhood as a native Mandarin speaker! Iâd highly recommend this book to any family or teacher wanting to introduce kids to Chinese in a fun, educational way.

Great for granddad starting to learn Chinese!
The book has good illustration and excellent music and is a good way for a non Chinese speaking adult to learn a few Chinese words while reading and singing to a young child. The lyrics are simple and memorable. There are also English translations and phonetic symbols to help with pronunciation. I am an English-speaking granddad who didnât know any Chinese, but I was able to follow along. My 2-year-old granddaughter is being raised to speak Chinese, Spanish, and English. It has been fun for my wife and me to read this book together with her and be part of this language experience for our family.

Not durable for kids
Was very great when it arrived. But after toddler played with it it doesn’t last long. The buttons stopped working and the cardboard pages unglued

Great resource for families learning Mandarin Chinese together
This is a great quality resource for parents and families that are learning Chinese together. The quality audio, easy to press buttons and functional phrases that the books teach can be used and applied right away. My three year old toddler has been enjoying these so much.

Great Chinese exposure for babies!
We love this book! My baby is closer to 1 year so I wasn’t sure if he’d be too old for it, but as soon as I hit play on a page, he came over and was entranced. Sometimes he even bops along to the songs. He’s also figured out how to hit the small “play” buttons on each page and will flip through the book on his own.The words are simple enough that even I can follow along, and it has pinyin for when I don’t know the words. The book itself is sturdy and well-made, which is great because my baby has been dragging it across the room. It’s been a great way to bring Chinese language and culture into our home. Highly recommend!
