Fun find
My four year old has had a blast with this toy!! Very fun. I found it a little expensive for what you get, however much worth it after seeing the fun. This is the only one I could find and it was a specific request. The string could be replaced, it has separated a bit but is still holding together. It is more than plenty long enough. The band for the wrist is Velcro.

Great prop, just needs stronger throwing/retrieving string attached
We have had two of these grapping hooks. One we bought to go with a Halloween costume and one we bought to replace the original one when it was lost. The grappling hook is sturdy material. The hook feels more like rubber than plastic, which is good. The string that comes attached, for throwing and retrieving, is flimsy and doesn’t hold up to 5 and 6 year olds playing super heroes with it. This is meant to be a costume prop, but with a stronger string attached also works as a great prop for the kids playing super heroes.

My 7 year old played hard with this for over a week before it broke. For the price, that’s better than most other costume toys I’ve bought for him. If you want it to be a little more durable, just reinforce the handle and connect the string better. The hook part is in good condition still. I’m probably just going to make a new handle for it.

OK, so this thing is apparently a toy and is not strong enough to hold up a grown man. And if you give it to a child (you know, because it’s a toy), they will immediately throw it at the face of another child. The plastic is hard enough to bloody a nose but is not strong enough to allow a hasty and heroic exit from the balcony. It might be worth spending a little more for a grappling hook with some thicker cord.

This grappling hook was delivered quickly and was a lot better quality than I had imagined. I read the reviews about it being flimsy and breaking, but I didn’t find that to be true at all. It is foam, but thick foam. I can see how kids can break it, but as long as you’re not trying to pull down with all your weight it’ll be just fine! I added photos to show the flexibility and size of it. I spray painted mine with silver for a cosplay I am doing, and it was just what I needed! (: highly recommended for adults.
