Clutch power varies, combined build is tough
I especially enjoy pirate themed building sets, so I got this twelve pack so that I could build the larger ship that combines pieces from all twelve. I have a couple other small ships similar to the individual builds, and those can be quite enjoyable. However, these twelve are a bit more bare-bones, omitting banners and stickers. The laminated paper pirate sails are nice-looking, however.Having built the larger ship, I can’t say it’s really worth the amount of time it takes to complete. The largest plate among any of the pieces is 2×4, so it’s really all tiny pieces. Clutch power varies and it required careful building to get it all assembled with such minimal structural pieces. The finished result isn’t bad, but it’s not great either. Colors in the instruction sheets are good enough for building the individual ships, but turned into an additional puzzle to solve when dealing with all the colors together.Individually, as egg hunt prizes, I think these are fun. The instructions and sails were inside a bag with the parts bag, so you don’t have to match them up yourself and it’s easy to pack them into the eggs. The pieces are all LEGO-compatible size, but lower quality – not bad, but not great.

Fun little build kits
The kids loved having these in their easter eggs this year mixed in with the candy eggs. These are clever little builds that each look fun! I was tempted to keep them all together to build the large ship design, but relented and decided to let the kids have the fun.

Eggs not pre-filled, but nice little building bricks
Quality bricks with no issues fitting and staying together. Note that if you do purchase this for a egg hunt or as a gift, all of the bricks are not individually packaged in the eggs. So some assembly is required before giving it to the recipient. Each set comes with their own instructions. I do appreciate that they’re out of the eggs because if you want to build the large pirate ship instead of all of the individual ones, you can begin that way. The rainbow colors on the large pirate ship do remind me of playing with Legos as a kid!

Great for party favors or to build a fleet
My boys (ages 4 and 7) are huge fans of Legos and other off-brand building blocks. They were so excited to get these smaller pirate ships building sets in their Easter basket. The ships all came in individual bags that were easy to store inside an Easter egg. They were easy enough for my 4 year old to build independently, and yet were able to keep my 7 year old entertained too.

Do not fit in the egg.
Super cute. But, they do not fit in the egg. Eggs are extremely difficult to close even with nothing in them. I ended up using pirate ships as stuffers for easter baskets. And tossing the plastic eggs.
