A Flawed Saber
This is one heavy lightsaber! I was hoping to use it for costuming at a con, but carrying it around all day will be a drag. The weight is all in the hilt, so even if you wanted to just clip it to your belt, it will be heavy.The saber I received had two scratches on the silver part of the hilt in between the ridges. The white stripes that are supposed to be mother-of-pearl are cheap-looking white plastic. One of them is stuck on crooked. A mother-of-pearl sticker on the surface would have been so much better.Other people have commented on the low volume of the sound effects, and I agree. If the manufacturer was worried about bothering people with the sound, they should have added a volume control so you could have it louder for private battles or in a noisy situation. I doubt this will be audible at a convention.Moving on to the packaging. I give it points for using no plastic or twist ties in the packaging. It’s all cardboard, paper for protecting the parts, and paper string to hold the parts in. BUT. THE DESIGN OF THE PACKAGING IS TERRIBLE. It’s a weirdly angled box, and when you open it everything is upside down, so that once you untie the string, when you lift the tray the pieces are in to turn it over, the parts are no longer secure and fall out. There are two pieces – the emitter ring and the belt clip – that are not even tied in. So when I wanted to put the tray with the saber and parts in it back in the box, I had to reverse the string ties or every time I flipped the tray over to close the box, things would fall out. This required me to try and push the string through the holes backwards which was difficult because when they were originally pushed through, it left extra cardboard around the edges of the holes which blocked them. The string is not stiff like a twist tie, so it was a pain to get it to go through the holes. A simple rectangular box that you can lay down, open the lid and see your lightsaber face-up would have been so much better. I like to carry my saber to conventions in the box so it won’t get damaged. Trying to get the saber back in this box in a parking lot or the back of the car is going to be a pain. Very poor packaging design!!Overall, I’d say this is a pretty good saber but not great. I’m trying to decide if I should return it due to the scratches and the low volume of the SFX. I got it at a good price though – about $140 (it’s probably not selling well because of its faults).

Mycket fint svärd, skaftet är metal och väger ganska mycket. Man måste ta bort en skruv från greppet för att ta ut batterierna. Bra värde för pengarna.
