Kids Laptop, Color Screen Bilingual Laptop Spanish/English with 124 Learning Modes, Computer for Kids Ages 5+

Did not keep kids engaged.
The bilingual kids laptop was ok but did not keep kids entertained for very long. The laptop takes 3AA batteries which did not come with. The battery cover is screwed on with a tiny screw as well as a clip so it needed a screwdriver before the laptop could be used. I took off 3 stars for multiple reasons, one being that the laptop comes with a mouse and an additional black cord. Nowhere in the instructions could I figure out what the black cord is actually for. The mouse does not function as a mouse, but rather just has 2 buttons, enter and escape- this makes it pretty much non functional as you still need to use the arrows or the “mouse” feature on the actual laptop itself. If your child already can use a computer mouse or touch screen device there is a large learning curve. The instructions explain how to play each game, which is fantastic but requires a parent to match up and explain for all 62 games on the device, many of them are not self explanatory. The games and activities themselves are shown on a small color screen in the middle of the device. Keep your expectations low as the color screen is around 2/3 of the size of a typical smartphone screen without any of the functionality- the kids kept trying to touch the screen because that is what they are used to but on this device they have to press a letter, number or arrow key to use it. The laptop’s main language is Spanish and you must switch it each time you turn it on- most of the Spanish was understandable but many of the English phrases did not make sense or were hard to understand. For a price point of $49.99 at the time of this review, I feel you could get an actual tablet with much greater functionality at this price point. It also does not teach Spanish or English if that is your goal but rather the device can be switched for use in either language.The pro’s of this device is it does not need internet, it runs on battery and it has 62 activities that can be played in English or Spanish including spelling, math (addition, subtraction and division), letter learning, colors, guessing games, challenges, and time. The sound volume of the device was clear and easy to adjust but does not have the option to use headphones.I personally do not recommend this laptop toy and would not order it again.
