In this Harry Potter Edition of the Clue game, a student has vanished from the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Who can solve the mysterious disappearance? Kids play as Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Luna, or Neville to discover who did it, what spell or item was used, and where the attack happened. Harry Potter fans will recognize the Owlery, Trophy Room, and other Wizarding World places on the Hogwarts gameboard. Rolling a house crest on the Hogwarts die lets the player move a wheel on the board one notch. It’ll reveal secret passages, changing staircases, doors that may or may not be available to use, or the Dark Mark may appear. Go from location to location in Hogwarts and narrow down possibilities as other players show their cards. If someone thinks they’ve solved the case, they head to Dumbledore’s office to make an accusation. A correct accusation wins the game. The board game is for kids ages 8 and up.

Awesome game!
This game is so much fun! We were all riled up playing this, great family game. Itâs much more interesting than the original clue but itâs not so complicated that you canât figure the rules out pretty fast. Our family ranges in ages from 10-34 and we all had a great time and no problem following along. The price for value was perfect. I would totally buy this again as a gift for someone else!

Clue & HP Fans will surely enjoy!
So, we began to set this up the night we received it. Took a while to get all the pieces punched out and clipped onto the board but it wasn’t that big of a deal. We decided to play it the following night as it was getting pretty late and we know Clue can be a long game… We have a 7yo who is obsessed with HP and an 11yo who also loves HP. I was a little concerned our 7yo would struggle with game play, as she can’t read some of the big words used but she did alright! Note: That was after about an hour of reading the instructions and trying just to set it up for game play ð (jk, kinda!) … It was a bit difficult to understand exactly what we were doing (we read the instructions constantly while playing) and honestly super complicated the first time played but after a few rounds I think we will be able to play it with more ease. That said, the game construction itself is quality, graphics are wonderful, the concept behind the Dark Cards, help carda and the dice rolls is really fun (you can really get into feeling like a character in the castle if you let your imagination run) but there’s still a few things we’re confused about that aren’t really solidly explained in the instructions. What are the all black (both sides) cards for? We didn’t see a purpose in the instructions so we felt like we were maybe playing it wrong in some way. I reread the entire instruction sheet through 3 times thinking maybe I missed it somewhere?! (I didn’t! It doesn’t mention those cards anywhere!) Other than that, it’s fun for a family game night. Even dad enjoyed & he’s not really into HP (maybe it’s because he joined up with our 7yo to help her understand how the game works and they won ð¤ð¤£ See their winning card they had to gloat and put on the fridge, lol). I recommend this game for HP and Clue enthusiasts!

better to buy new on this one
interesting game combination of the old “Clue” and with Harry Potter theme. The box was not not up to par and definitely not a giftable item. I would rate this one good but not great

Christmas Gift Success!
Granddaughters ages 13 and 11. Both love the original Clue but since only one likes Harry Potter, I wasn’t sure about this. It was a hit! Maybe because of their experience with the original board game, the instructions for this were not complicated. Setup wasn’t a problem and two games were played in a reasonable amount of time.

Fun and well-customized to Potter theme
Clue is a fun game and a great way to teach kids basic logic puzzles. This edition made the board look like the marauder’s map, and of course the mystery cards (suspect, etc.) are based on things from the wizarding world. But they went the extra mile to customize it by making the board move like the hogwarts castle. I’m not sure about the help cards/dark cards system they added. It seems like there are too many help cards and no one ever has the one they need. But it would take a lot of bad luck to really lose that way.Side note, the first one we received was brand new but missing the cards. Replacement was fine, though. Probably just bad luck.

So Harry Potter Clue is quickly becoming a favorite for my 10-year old daughter. It reintroduces a little more randomness into clue as there are effects that can essentially eliminate players from the game. And yet the game is quick enough for that not to be a horrible thing. I feel the graphic design could be a little better as it is not always easy to determine the names of the rooms, but a little time with a label maker can fix that too.

Arrived in a plastic envelope which explained slight dents at corners of box where it was likely handled. Hoped for 3D Harry Potter pawns/ miniatures for its price but only contained cardboard prints. Otherwise I am very much happy with the game itself.
