OK I love this! Santa left this for my 4 year old. It is wickedly simple in concept and execution. You are coding a mouse to go into different directions. It comes with cards and simple instructions. It was ready to go out of the box even though I got it in September and had Santa leave it on Christmas (it did die after two days, but you just plug it up and it should be good to go for a long time).My only complaint is that I wish I got the bigger version of this kit, and I wish there were a little holder for the cards. It took a minute to get my son to understand to “draw” out his coding with the cards first. He is now coding without the cards and then will run a program and place the cards out in the order he put it in.Honestly, I grew up in the 80’s and remember coding a turtle in MSDOS and it infuriated me so much, but with these cards and mouse, it makes it way easier. Even if your child isn’t into coding or STEM, this is also great for “cause/effect” or “if/then” in real time.

Great learning tool!
This code and go mouse is a wonderful learning tool. The mouse is really cute, and it works well. It is easy to learn how to do. It is fun to put something as the “cheese” and then lay out the arrows for the mouse to get to it from the starting point. Then you program the mouse, pick up the arrows, and let the mouse go to see if you coded it correctly. It is great for kids of all ages because you can increase or decrease the complexity of the maze you make. It comes in a small box, so it would be easy to pack and take places. Overall, a great buy!

Perfect to teach young kids coding
This was a really great tool to help my seven-year-old learn coding patterns and how technology can be used to drive progress. The whole kit was easy to set up and my son loved creating different patterns and watching the motions of everything spin and turn and move according to the cards that he was putting in front of the little mouse. Itâs a great educational tool for kids of all ages and I love that my son is enjoying activities that are interactive versus digital learning.

Super cute STEM toy
This is a lot of fun and is a super cute way to introduce programming and mazes.It does not really turn a full 90 degrees when you have it turn, so that does complicate any compact mazes you’d want to do, but spacious mazes should be okay.For the price of $45 I think this is a bit pricey for what it is and becomes impractical for at home use – however, I see this as a great tool for group learning environments, or rotational learning.If you can afford it, it’s definitely fun though.

This is a fantastic first set to learn coding. I bought it with the bigger robot mouse set and together they have been used all day. It is simple enough for the kids to mostly do it themselves but you all know how that goes! The set fits together well and there are a bunch of permutations so it will last well after the initial flush of excitement wears off.Loving that it is teaching them at the same time!!!

Fun and educational
My kid and I love this mouse. My 4 year old son played with it for hours. Itâs fun and also educational. Iâm so happy he can learn coding while having fun. If you make a maze with childâ blocks, your little ones will be super excited. Itâs a great learning tool, and I highly recommend it.

Got this for a young relative to get him into âcodingâ early.This code mouse comes with a USB-C cable for charging, a set of cards for directions and a set of instructions. At its core, this is very basic coding skills and it has great educational value in getting kids to learn this stuff early.The mouse is super easy to use and is easily charged via USB-C. You can also choose to get him to run at normal speed or âhyperâ speed. I didnât think there was that much difference to be honest!The buttons on top tell the rodent what to do. You can press to move forward, backwards, turn left, turn right or perform an action where he chooses to do something wacky like make a noise or scuttle backwards and forwards. You press the buttons to program in what you want him to do and then press the central âGoâ button to watch him follow your coding instructions.You can use the cards to help choose programming or build your own little maze for the coding child genius to try and work his way out of.Overall, Iâm really happy with this coding mouse. It introduces fundamental programming skills in a fun and easy to learn way and itâs great to see the mouse following your commands. He even works on carpet!
