Great, fun toy! Probably not for little kids!
I bought these for my sons after they fell in love with a book that features a kendama (Dodsworth in Tokyo by Tim Egan, highly recommend it). They love them, even my husband and I love trying to get the ball on the spear or in the cup! It’s tricky and takes practice which is fun. They’re also nicely made and seem sturdy. If you’re buying them for younger kids, you should know that it’s a *solid* wooden ball and almost has the heft of a pool ball on a string. My sons are 6 and 3 and as I was opening the package I had a moment of “whhaat was I thinking with this.” We’ve had a couple near misses of people getting hit with swinging kendama balls, but now we mostly use them outside and it’s better. Anyway, great toy, would suggest it for ages 8 or 9 and up though! Even some adults would probably love it!

Pretty fun
I gave one to both my adult children. However, the string broke on one after only a month use.

Skill
So fun! Itâs a challenge but worth the effort. Quality is nice.

Lower quality
Great starter kendamas. Perfect for my boys to try before I get more expensive/higher quality ones.

Ok product but wood questionable quality
Received the items on time, they look good, the colors make it interesting. They work well. However, I am rating it lower because the wood chipped on the first day on one of the kendama’s. Very disappointing considering it was the first day. I also have the original’s and the quality of the wood on these vs. the originals is noticably different and of lower quality. But for the price you pay can’t complain except I would expect it to last more than one day!

Great toy for kids and adults
This is a hard toy to explain how to play with, but I found it in a store in Hawaii, while watching other kids play with it, and they explained it to me. Very challenging and obsessive once you get going! My grandkids love it also. You have to throw the ball and try to get it back to you to land in the cup. I think there are YouTube videos that show you how to play.
