Fun puzzle set for kids, with a few reservations
This is a fun set with a book of puzzles that you can set up following the guide, and nice thick plastic pieces that feel like good quality. However, the little cars are hard to keep on the tracks (the way they are designed). And it seems to be targeted at very young children (based on the design and colors), but the puzzles and assembly are too complicated. I think my 4-year-old would want to play with this the most, but my 10-year-old is the only one who could actually figure it out. If you have a young child who is very smart or ahead of his age, this might be a good fit. Or possibly an older child who doesn’t mind “childish” stuff. 4 stars.

An adorable logic puzzle game
I love love love logic games and puzzles for children and youth rather than random chance games or silly toys, so when I saw this Brain Stem Activity Logic Kit, Board Teaser Games sold by STEM MATCH, I had to get it! It did not disappoint. You are assigned a starting point and ending point. The little dump truck is wound up with a ball in its loader but locked in the start position until you give it a little push at which time it automatically takes the course you created for it. If you created the course correctly with the various directional pieces, the dump truck will end at the dumping station and drop the ball into it. I literally giggled when I solved the first sample puzzle because it was so adorable. I think the game would be quite challenging for 5-7 year olds and will need just a bit of guidance from an adult. Eight years old and up I believe would be challenged but independent in figuring out the correct routing of the truck. The description says 3 and 4 year olds could do this but that is probably unrealistic unless they are a child prodigy. I think this is a fun logic puzzle to do with your child or grandchild. It provides enough pieces to turn it into a race game between two participants also which is fun and nice that you do not have to purchase two sets in order to have this race game. I think the price is about average for a great logic puzzle game.

Creative and engaging but pricey
At first, I was uncertain about purchasing this for my 6-year-old son, who has a rather short attention span and often gets bored swiftly. I was also unsure if this would be too simple for him to understand. I was happily surprised to find him and his 12-year-old brother thoroughly enjoying themselves racing their cars to determine which one could reach the marbles first. The toy is well-made, and the design is both fun and engaging.As a parent, I value that it promotes creative thinking and problem-solving. My children didn’t require the instructions, and they successfully devised their own paths and challenges. The absence of screens in the toy is a significant advantage, making it an excellent choice for family time. Another benefit is that it doesn’t need any batteries!An aspect that needs enhancement is the wind-up mechanism. The toys can be challenging to initiate, and it’s simple to lose momentum before they are correctly positioned on the track. This can be frustrating for younger kids. However, the option to simply drive the cars without winding them up is a nice compromise.I believe the toy is somewhat expensive considering its value. Although it’s well-made and enjoyable, I’m not convinced it’s worth the price. In general, I believe this toy would be an excellent present for children who like puzzles and imaginative play.This toy is appropriate for children between the ages of 5 and 10 who like imaginative play and solving challenges. Nonetheless, younger children might feel frustrated when attempting to create the maze paths. It’s definitely not for children below 5 or 6 years although the description says it as 3-10 years. Parents with younger children might think about beginning with the easier, more intuitive parts of the toy before moving on to the more difficult challenges. On the plus side kids older than 10 may also enjoy this.I have a couple of recommendations for enhancement. Initially, enabling the purchase of extensions and additional path pieces would greatly enhance the game’s difficulty and maintain children’s interest for a longer period. Furthermore, an easy method to fasten the boards together would facilitate moving the game.

Pull-back puzzle track
My 6 year old likes playing with toys like these. He has fun trying to figure out different paths but the vehicles are a bit frustrating for him. It’s nice that they pull back instead of wind-up so it’s easier for little ones but they didn’t last as long as he would like and they would also get stuck on the track pieces. I like that the set comes with a storage bag. Apparently the base pieces work for building blocks but we haven’t tried that out – it’s a pretty cool feature to include. The track pieces also just sit in the base so they are easy to remove. A booklet is also included with track designs/ideas.

A toy that teaches
We bought this for our grandkids, who like to build. This toy is excellent for teaching problem-solving skills. It can be a game with a friend as a competition or an independent activity as you make a track. It comes with a guidebook that has tracks for all skill levels. It is not battery-operated but spring-operated, which is nice. There is a good drawstring bag for storage.This set is a great STEM toy for children.
